World Bank willing to help Sudan – chief

HARTOUM, Sept 30 (KUNA) — World Bank President David Malpass said Thursday the bank, International Monetary Fund (IMF), the US, the UK and France are ready to help Sudan overcome its economic trouble and to have smooth democratic transition.
Malpass made the press remark following a meeting with Sudanese Prime Minister Abdulla Hamdouk in Khartoum, saying that both sides had discussed the current economic situation in Sudan.
The World Bank’s chief noted that he was accompanied during his Khartoum visit by a high-level delegation seeking to help this Arab country overcome its difficult stage.
Malpass arrived in Khartoum on Wednesday evening in the first visit by a head of the bank in 40 years. (end)
