Strictly fans share worry for couple as movie week ‘did no favours’

Strictly Come Dancing fans are concerned for one couple after their movie week performance.

It was lights, camera, action in the ballroom on Saturday night as the 14 remaining celebrities and their professional partners took to the floor for an epic themed week.

From Shrek to The Bodyguard, Avatar to James Bond – the show pulled out all the stops.

And while the theme worked for many, some viewers have said that for Robert Webb and Dianne Buswell, the costumes did them ‘no favours’.

The TV and comedy star realised it wasn’t easy being green as he donned a striking Kermit The Frog outfit for his quickstep to The Muppet Show theme tune.

Dianne was, of course, dressed ad Miss Piggy – complete with bouncing blonde locks and a snout.

So it’s no surprise Strictly viewers were distracted.

“Robert and Diana as Kermit and Miss Piggy are killing me #Strictly,” tweeted one.

Another said: “Shout out to Dianne staunchly sitting in the audience with her pig snout on at all times. #scd #strictly.”

“I can’t handle Dianne in the background of shots with the pig nose #strictly,” a third added.

A fourth commented: “Excuse me but this Kermit outfit is spinning me out #strictly.”

However, fans of the couple fear this could spell trouble for their time in the competition.

“I didn’t think the costume did them any favours,” one said.

Another commented: “Looked like he was wearing a crash helmet. What was that outfit about? Poor Robert, think he’s doing really well.”

“Stitched up with those costumes. I’m crossing my fingers for you two, my fave couple,” a third shared.

A fourth said: “I love Robert and Dianne but they need to stop getting gimmicky themes, why couldn’t Robert be Bond and Greg be Kermit – but a great job done after all.”

“Eeeks Robert really isn’t the worst dancer this year, however those costumes did neither him or Dianne justice. Another issue was how obvious it was that Dianne was leading and Robert almost looked clumsy out there. Disappointing since last week was so good #Strictly,” another said.
